Ready to move on from default Mautic email themes and “code mode” jobs?
In this tutorial I’ll show you, step by step, how to build your own Mautic email theme – no coding experience required.
Since joining the Mautic community in 2016, I’ve built dozens of custom coded Mautic emails for small businesses and agencies like nDash, Patron Point, and Webcanik.
But I recently started using the Stripo email builder, and have found it to be an excellent alternative to manually coding emails. The code generated by Stripo is relatively easy to edit and turn into a Mautic theme.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
- We’ll use a powerful drag and drop builder (Stripo) for email layout and design.
- I’ll teach you exactly where to insert critical Mautic code snippets to make sections of your email editable.
- Lastly, I’ll show you how to package it all up into a theme file.
Then you’ll be able to install and use your themes in any Mautic instance – including Mautic 3 – just like the pre-installed themes (and these free options).

Note: this tutorial was recorded in July 2020. A new email builder is being developed for Mautic, which will (hopefully) make building emails and themes easier!
