How fire a blank placeholder message in Braze using a webhook

Sometimes I want the functionality of a Full Step in Braze, but without actually sending a message.

That’s where the workaround of sending a blank message comes in handy!

There’s a particular use case I have in mind: waiting until a specific date and time.

Because although Braze offers a standalone Delay Step, the step has fewer options (2) compared to the Full Step (4). And the Delay Step does not off that “Send on the next” option – which is something I use regularly.

No matter your situation, to fire a blank webhook as a placeholder message in your Canvas:

  1. Choose Webhook as the message channel
  2. Select Blank Template for the webhook
  3. For the webhook URL, use
  4. In settings, select GET as the type

That’s it!
